THERAPY & COACHING
About Our Practice
WaSaBē MINT
WaSaBē MINT is a therapy and coaching practice founded by Ronella, a therapist, coach, and developer of the TRUST Framework, a model she created to help people understand how trust is built, how it is broken, and how it can be rebuilt in relationships, families, leadership, and within themselves. Her work focuses on helping people make sense of the patterns in their lives so they can make more aligned decisions, build healthier relationships, and create lives that feel sustainable, not just successful on paper.
Ronella works with individuals, couples/families, and organizations who are navigating burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity exploration, leadership, work stress, and the often complicated overlap between personal life and professional life. Much of her work is rooted in the understanding that people do not experience life in separate categories. Our personal lives affect our leadership. Our work affects our relationships. Our family history affects how we make decisions. Because of this, her work often explores trust across the Principles 4 Life: Lineage, Leadership, Love, and Legacy.
The name WaSaBē MINT reflects the people and principles that shaped Ronella’s life and work. “WaSaBē” represents the mentors, elders, and ancestors who guided, protected, and nurtured her along the way. “MINT” was inspired by Ronella’s children and honors the distinct identity, wisdom, and possibilities each person brings into the world. Together, the name reflects the belief that healing and growth do not happen in isolation. We are shaped by the people who raise us, the people who guide us, and the people we are responsible for guiding in return. The work is rooted in this understanding of origin, connection, responsibility, and growth.
ABOUT THE FRAMEWORK
The TRUST Framework
The TRUST Framework is the foundation of the work at WaSaBē Mint. It was developed by Ronella as a way to help people understand how trust functions across every area of life, not just in relationships, but within themselves, their work, their families, and their leadership.
This framework is applied across the Principles 4 Life: Lineage, Leadership, Love, and Legacy. These represent the different spaces where trust is applied, tested, broken, and rebuilt over time.
At its core, the TRUST Framework helps people understand that many of the challenges they are facing are not random. They are often connected to how trust has been formed, damaged, or unsupported in their lives. When people understand their patterns with trust, they can begin to make different decisions, communicate more clearly, and build healthier relationships and lives.
THE THREE TRUST EXPRESSIONS
The TRUST Framework is built in layers, with each TRUST Expression deepening how trust is understood and practiced.
Self Trust
This TRUST Expression is the starting point. Because everything begins with you, the focus here is how trust is cultivated from within. Self TRUST creates confidence.
- Time: How you value the time you spend with yourself by managing both its quantity and quality well.
- Respect: How you honor your past experiences (grace) while creating capacity for change (space)
- Utility:How you recognize what serves you (personal gain) and supports your sense of purpose.
- Safety: How you establish and maintain physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual boundaries
- Truth: How you own your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and actions while aligning your internal truth (accountability) and external truth (honest communication)
Relational Trust
This TRUST Expression focuses on mutual care, deeper emotional understanding, and the importance of cultivating shared meaning. Relational TRUST creates connection.
- Respect becomes Reciprocity
- Utility becomes Understanding
- Safety becomes Sacredness
Collective Trust
This TRUST Expression focuses on long-term sustainability, community, and the systems that cultivate trust across time. Collective TRUST creates culture.
- Reciprocity becomes Resources
- Understanding becomes Unity
- Sacredness becomes Support Systems
*Across all levels, Time and Truth remain anchors, but they deepen in meaning as people grow, heal, and develop.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Meet Ronella.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and coach, Ronella Ellis works with individuals, couples, families, and professionals from a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds, including military communities, expatriates, multicultural families, and high-functioning professionals experiencing burnout, relationship stress, and major life transitions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Management and Organization from Spelman College and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. In addition to her clinical training, she holds certifications and specialized training in birth education facilitation, birth and postpartum doula support, infant massage, African psychology, and applied astrology and reflective tarot practices.
Ronella’s work sits at the intersection of mental health, relationships, leadership, culture, and identity, with the understanding that personal life and professional life are never as separate as we try to make them. Ronella’s approach is grounded in psychology, influenced by African-centered psychology and Eastern philosophy, and shaped by years of working with people navigating complex life circumstances. She is known for being direct, nonjudgmental, and deeply invested in helping clients understand themselves rather than simply trying to “fix” behaviors. Her work is centered on helping people build internal trust—the foundation of the TRUST Framework and Principles 4 Life (TRUST 4 Life). Clients communicate more effectively, strengthen relationships, and move through life with greater clarity and intention.
Through WaSaBē MINT, Ronella offers therapy, coaching, groups, consulting, and organizational partnerships grounded in the TRUST 4 Life signature system. Her system is intentionally designed to challenge the modern fallacy of work-life balance and address the real work of living life aligned.
TRUST 4 Life facilitates a way to curate life— transforming how people capture the beauty in what really matters most.
ABOUT THE BOOK
Breakups don’t just end relationships—they unravel identity, safety, faith, and the stories we tell ourselves about love and about ourselves. For many, heartbreak is layered with trauma, grief, betrayal, and survival. This book honors that complexity.
Blending real-life stories of love, loss, and resilience with trauma-informed reflections, this collection offers a compassionate path through breakup recovery—one rooted in honesty rather than quick fixes.
Within these pages, women share deeply personal journeys: loving fully, staying too long, surviving emotional and psychological harm, navigating abandonment, rediscovering faith, reclaiming self-worth, and choosing healing when walking away felt impossible. Their stories are raw, reflective, and deeply validating for anyone who has felt silenced, confused, or alone after a relationship ends.
Alongside these narratives, readers are guided through gentle, evidence-based tools that help make sense of intrusive thoughts, emotional overwhelm, trauma bonds, and grief. Reflective prompts encourage self-compassion, clarity, and rebuilding from the inside out.
This is not a book about “getting over” a breakup. It is about bearing witness and healing with intention. If you are seeking understanding, validation, and a way forward—this book meets you where you are and guides you toward wholeness.
